Sonata Subdivision

2D2B3093A new small home community in downtown Healdsburg, called Sonata, is also home to a new sculpture commissioned by the Voigt Family Sculpture Foundation for the site. The graceful steel and stainless steel work, by Mark Stasz, is a lovely balancing act of metal forms. It is placed in a small pocket park along Healdsburg Avenue, at the entrance to the subdivision. The work was partially funded by a grant from the housing developer, D.R. Horton. Scherzo! is a reference to the name of the subdivision. A scherzo is the whimsical third movement in a sonata, and can be translated from Italian to mean “playful” or “joking.”
