Artist Statement
I was asked to participate in the SEAT exhibition at Fort Mason in 2011. Considering the elements near the ocean I chose concrete, steel and redwood for materials. The weather can be windy and cold so I designed the high backs for protection. Not knowing which way the wind blows I designed opposing backs, this also allows couples to easily “converse.”
