Artist Statement

Quixotic is the title for this work because what began as a portrait of Don Quixote quickly exceeded the scale and technical capacity I had originally intended, or was capable of. Inspired by the work of sculptors Franz West and Tom Otterness, the piece represents an unrealistic, overly romantic goal coupled with a nostalgia for toys, building blocks and the erector sets from my childhood. I am very proud and fortunate to work with engineers and the smart team at VFSF who make these quixotic visions possible.
